Education, Opportunity, Hope for the people of Eastern Guatemala:

Hope for the Rio Dulce is a 501 c (3) non profit organization founded to promote the development of Q’eqchi’ (kek-chee) villagers on the Rio Dulce. We work to provide these descendants of the ancient Maya a chance at a better life – a chance that is often denied them.

We do this by working to promote education (through the funding of schools and scholarships for students), help villagers develop new sources of income – to be able to provide for themselves, and by providing humanitarian aid.

Open your mouth, decree what is just, defend the needy and the poor! Proverbs 31:9

We are powered by our faith and its call to fight for justice and opportunity for all.  We are supported by individuals who want to do something – small or large – to make this world a better place. We work alongside village leaders, as well as local and church leaders to bring hope and opportunity to the Q’eqchi’ villagers.

Take a look at our current projects:

Our Projects page highlights many of the projects we are working on right now. We encourage you to take a look so you can see what we are up to. There are always plenty of projects that would benefit the villagers of the Rio Dulce, but funding is limited. So, if you like what you see, we encourage you to make a donation in support of the villagers. Your support can alter the course of their lives.
