New Junior High for Remote Villages in Need:

Categories: Hope for the Rio Dulce Update

For several years Hope for the Rio Dulce has operated a junior high school in the village of Nuevo Nacimiento Caliz. That school has dormitories to house students from distant villages. Many came from hours away just for the chance to study.

One particular group of students at that school had to travel nearly a full day, from a remote location,  just to reach the school. They did that because they had no choice – there were no schools available in their area.

Thanks to donations, last year we were able to open a junior high for the students in that area. Over 90 students signed up for classes in about one week. More are expected in the coming year. We will be working  in the coming year to build the school up so that it can function for many years to come.
